AUTISM:
Autism Intervention Program
The Autism Intervention Program provides intensive behavioural intervention to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The goal is providing intensive behavioural intervention to children with Autism, to help them develop functional skills and optimize the child’s success upon transitioning to school.
Description of Services:
An Intensive Behaviour Program (IBI) which consists of 20 or more hours of one on one behavioural training for a small number of children with autism.
Admission Criteria
Children diagnosed by a physician or psychologist as having Autism disorder at the severe end of the PDD spectrum whose individual needs can be best met by Intensive Behavioural Interventions.
Exclusion criteria
Any other disorders except Autism Spectrum Disorder
Catchment area outside of district
Any child who does not meet eligibility requirement
Referrals
Referrals can be made by parents/guardians by contacting Intake Services at (807) 343-5000.
