FAMILY SERVICES TEAM
Description of Services
The Family Services Team (FST) provides multi-disciplinary community-based mental health services to children and adolescents, ages 6-17 (inclusive), and their families. Services provided include assessment, consultation, individual, family and group treatment.
Referral Sources
Referrals are accepted from parents, children and youth through the Intake Service at CCTB.
Referring Problems
Families and youth referring to the FST program may include such presenting problems as bereavement, sexual abuse, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, minimal parenting skills, single parent families, blended families, separation/divorce, family violence, suicidal ideation/ attempts, adolescent/developmental, school truancy difficulties, etc.
Program Responsibilities
- Provide multidisciplinary assessments to individual and families that have been referred.
- Provide a spectrum of treatment services which respects the uniqueness of each client's situation.
- Provide consultative services to clients.
- Access the expertise within the multi-disciplinary team in treatment planning for clients.
- Work in partnership with other program areas and community agencies.
