Fundraising through events is a great way for individuals and our community to improve mental health and well-being for children and families. Listed below are upcoming events being held in support of The Children’s Centre Foundation.

Thunderwolves Indoor Marathon In Support of Children's Centre Foundation
The 1st annual Thunderwolves Indoor Marathon is scheduled for Sunday, January 31st at the Lakehead University Hangar in Thunder Bay, ON.
We will be featuring a full marathon, half marathon, 10km and marathon relay as well as a corporate relay. The full marathon is a 211 lap race where every lap time is recorded by chip timing. There will be an aid station on the course and music throughout the entire 26.21 miles. Runners will change directions every 60 minutes. We can guarantee perfect weather! We will provide showers and towel service to all race participants in the C.J. Sanders Fieldhouse.

Chinese Auction
Children’s Centre Foundation Thunder Bay held their first ever Chinese Auction on November 26, 2009. Twenty five beautiful gift baskets were raffled off, and the event raised approx. $2000.00.
Styles and Smiles - October 2009
On Tuesday, October 20th 2009, Children’s Centre Foundation, CMHA and United Way hosted the first annual Styles & Smiles fundraiser. It was an evening of fine dining, fashion and comedy entertainment. Each table of guests was hosted by a member of The Society of Excellent Men. The total raised from this event and the society was over $30,000
Prom '09 - September 2009
Come Relive Highschool Awkwardness was held on September 11th, 2009 at the Slovak Legion. The evening was enjoyed by all. Thank you to all who attended/supported this event.
The Grand Kam Canoe and Kayak Tour
Saturday August 22, 2009 at Fort William Historical Park
This year the Grand Kam & Kayak Tour had 27 participants in either canoes or kayaks, and raised over $7000. All who participated in the tour said that they enjoyed themselves, and it was a beautiful day for a paddle down the Kam River.
The FINAL Lisa Laco’s 49 & Holding Birthday Bash - November 28, 2008
Da Vinci Centre
CBC Radio host, Lisa Laco pledged to remain at 49 until she helps the Children's Centre Foundation Thunder Bay to raise $49,000! Well, that time has come, and Lisa is finally turning 50! Once again, the event featured live music by the Sensational Hot Rods, dancing, raffles, and a silent auction. It was a wonderful evening, and a great way to wrap up 4 years of birthday celebrations. Thanks to Lisa, our generous sponsors, prize donors, supporters, volunteers, and event attendees for all of your continued support.

2nd Annual WineSations -
April 14, 2008
Lot 66, 66 Court Street South
The Children's Centre Foundation Thunder Bay and Lot 66 proudly presented the 2nd Annual “WineSations: A Taste of the Lot”, an evening of fine wine and food in support of children’s mental health. The evening was held at Lot 66 with delicious wine and food pairings, as well as information about each of the wines served. This wonderful evening raised approximately $3,250 for the Foundation. Thank you to everyone for all of your support!
Safeway ‘We Care’ Campaign -
January - March, 2008
Safeway – Arthur Street location
Each year, Safeway stores across Canada each choose a registered charity that fits into the annual criteria. This year’s theme is ‘supporting children and families living with physical and developmental disabilities’. The Children's Centre Foundation Thunder Bay successfully applied to this charity program on behalf of Children’s Centre’s Early Intervention Program. Various fundraising and public education activities were held at Safeway – Arthur Street location throughout the months of January to March. A total of $16, 044 was raised! The funds raised will help to fund items, toys, books, equipment, and parental/client education for the Early Intervention Program. A warm thank you to all of the staff, volunteers and supporters for a very successful initiative!
Make It Short Movie Project -

Silvercity Theatre
Each year, the Make It Short Movie Project educates the community on the art of film production by giving the general public the opportunity to experience life on a 'real' film set - in front and behind the camera. In 2007, the Make It Short Movie Project raised over $1,200 for Children's Centre Foundation Thunder Bay. The 2007 film was a spy theme, entitled ‘G8’. Lisa Laco’s 49 & Holding Birthday Bash – 3rd Annual -

The Halloween Howler was a chance for ghouls and ghosts to bring their friends and have some fun! The evening raised over $700. Thanks to the event organizers, and everyone who helped to make the night a success.
Starbucks “A Cup For A Cause” Charity Day -

During the day, any size coffee or latte was by donation only, with all of the proceeds benefiting the Children's Centre Foundation Thunder Bay. Thanks to the fantastic team at Starbucks (Thunder Centre) for helping our Foundation raise approximately $500.
Fort William Country Club Lady’s Invitational -
August 5 and 6, 2007
The Fort William Country Club hosted a two day Lady’s Invitational which raised $4,000 for the Foundation. Everyone enjoyed plenty of great golf, good food and wonderful people. Thanks to the Fort William Country Club planning committee, event chair, Dr. Helve Hobe, and everyone involved.

Paddlers of all ages gathered for 5 kilometre and 20 kilometre leisure or competitive paddles. The day included a barbeque, live entertainment, children’s activities, an exotic pet display, prizes, awards, and a raffle for a brand new kayak. The 2007 Grand Kam Canoe and Kayak Tour raised $8,500. Thanks to all of our sponsors, community supporters, planning committee, dedicated volunteers, and of course, our participants!
