FASD Strategy

The Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) Program is part of the Provincial

Government’s FASD strategy. The goal of the FASD Program is to provide family

centred services for children and youth with a FASD diagnosis, or suspected diagnosis,

and their families through consultation, system navigation and community capacity

building.

The FASD program supports children and youth with a confirmed, or suspected,

diagnosis of FASD, and their families within the District and City of Thunder Bay. The

program is designed to help identify what is important to the child or youth and their

family, and then support all those involved with the family to accomplish the identified

goals.

The FASD program also works closely with other organizations and service providers to

build their capacity to work from an FASD frame of reference. This is accomplished

through workshops, presentations, program consultations, and community projects.
