Multi/Complex Special Needs Case Resolution

Multi/Complex Special Need Case Resolution is a formalized, collaborative, cross-sectoral process geared to problem-solving, exploring service options, and developing creative service solutions to meet the multiple and/or complex special needs of the child/youth and their family.

The Multi/Complex Special Needs Case Resolution process consists of various organizations within the District of Thunder Bay services system.

These include:

  • Children’s Centre Thunder Bay
  • Dilico Anishinabek Family Care
  • George Jeffrey Children’s Centre
  • OPTIONS northwest
  • Child & Community Resources
  • Children’s Aid Society of the District of Thunder Bay
  • North of Superior Counselling Programs
  • Canadian Mental Health Association – Thunder Bay
  • WesWay
  • St Joseph’s Care Group

This group of organizations will meet when situations arise where a child’s treatment or intervention needs are beyond locally available services and supports. The purpose of the meetings is to develop creative, cross sectorial service solutions to meet the needs of children and youth up to the age of 18 with complex special needs.

Children’s Centre Thunder Bay supports Multi/Complex Special Needs Case Resolution by acting as the lead organization for the service system, and by activity participating in the meetings. Referrals to the Multi/Complex Special Needs Case Resolution process can only be made by an Executive Director, or Director, of one of the participating agencies.
