SUPERVISED ACCESS WORKER

GERALDTON , ONTARIO

PART-TIME UNION POSITION

SALARY: $18.37 - $22.35 PER HOUR

UP TO 15 HRS PER WEEK

14% IN LIEU OF BENEFITS

RESPONSIBILITIES :

The Supervised Access Worker is responsible for supervising parents and children during access periods, completing intake interviews, scheduling client visits/exchanges, responding to service inquiries and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

This position requires a minimum of a diploma in the social or human services from a recognized and accredited college, combined with a minimum of two years related experience. Demonstrated experience in the areas of family dynamics, child development, effects of separation and divorce on families and children, family violence, safety planning in family violence and abuse situations, First Aid and CPR certification are required.

The Supervised Access Worker requires strong interpersonal skills and comprehensive understanding and sensitivity to the issues of Violence Against Women and the ability to recognize potentially critical situations and respond accordingly and in a proactive manner. Excellent oral and communication skills are required. The Supervised Access Worker must have sound interviewing assessment and crisis intervention skills including negotiation, conciliation and conflict management. A valid Ontario driver’s licence and experience with Microsoft Word is required.
