Autism Support Services
Who Can Use This Service
Children and their families are eligible to receive this services if
- The child has a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder and the family and child would benefit from support and education
- The child is on the waitlist for an Autism Assessment and the family would benefit from support and education related to a potential diagnosis of autism
What Is Offered?
- Advocacy related to working with the service system including schools, child care programs, health care and social services
- Parenting support and education with respect to ASD
- Parent Support Group
- Multidisciplinary consultation as needed
How Can This Service Help?
The Autism Support Services can help the children and their families through,
- Increasing the families knowledge and understanding of Autism
- Advocating for and coordinating services
- Providing support to parents and caregivers
- Strengthening the parents capacity to parent
- Strengthening the systems ability to respond to the needs of the child
