What Is Offered?

This service provides individual and family treatment within an office-based setting. The duration of treatment is determined by the worker in conjunction with the client through the completion of an initial assessment and development of a treatment plan outlining goals for service.

In addition to counseling services, consultation and assessment with psychiatry, psychology or other mental health professionals may become part of your treatment plan, as needed.

How Will This Service Help?

When you are assigned a case manager or worker, they will meet with you and/or your family to gather information and complete an initial assessment so that a treatment plan can be developed to address the issues that have brought you to the centre.

You will be involved in the process and in the treatment planning. There are times when we may want to consult with doctors, teachers or other professionals and this will require your consent to obtain and share information with them. On a regular basis we will want to review your progress and treatment plan with you.

It is hoped that through participating in this service that the issues that brought you to our centre can be addressed. More specifically, treatment aims to reduce stress, strengthen coping, improve relationships and communication, treat mental health disorders, and improve your understanding of your self, family and the issues that you are struggling with. As well, our staff may become involved in advocating for services, making referrals, or sharing information with other professionals
