Parent Education Sessions
Who Can Use This Service?
All members of the community are welcome to attend our FREE Parent Education Sessions, funded by the UNITED WAY. The following series are offered at various times throughout the year. Sessions are delivered in a group format.
What Is Offered?
The Centre offers a variety of parenting educations session which currently include: Parenting After Separation and Divorce This single session will provide parents with the information they need to minimize the impact of separation and divorce on their children while maximizing effective parenting skills.
Co-Parenting After Separation and Divorce
This will provide parents with the information they need to minimize the impact of separation and divorce on their children while maximizing effective parenting skills.
Parenting Through High Conflict Separation and Divorce
This will provide parents with an overview of how children are affected by exposure to chronic parental conflict and what strategies may mitigate the risk of serious emotional harm for children and prevent alienation.
Navigating Through the Teenage Years
This is designed for parents looking for ways to navigate through the teenage years and build better relationships with their teenage children.
Understanding Your Teen & the Risks of Substance Use
This is designed to help parents gain an understanding of their teenage child and the risks of substance use. It will also provide education and support for parents of adolescents who are using alcohol and/or drugs.
